General Policies
Availability
I schedule tutoring sessions 7 days a week, between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. However, I try to accommodate earlier or later times, as needed.
Session Length
I typically schedule 1, 1.5, or 2-hour sessions, though longer is also fine. Duration usually depends on the student’s needs and preferences. In-person sessions require a minimum of one hour,
Payment
I accept cash, cheque, Interac e-Transfer, and PayPal. Payment is preferred after each session, though alternative arrangements can be made. No contracts are required.
Online Sessions
Online tutoring is usually conducted via Zoom. I use a touchscreen laptop with OneNote for interactive lessons.
In-Person Meeting Locations
Locations are arranged based on student preference, with common options including libraries, coffee shops, and homes in downtown Toronto. I am located in Roncesvalles.
Preparedness
Students are strongly encouraged to prepare for lessons by sharing topics or questions in advance, which helps keep sessions focused and productive. I am always happy to assign tailored practice or projects when appropriate.
FAQs
Do you have a cancellation policy?
Cancellations made within 6 hours of the scheduled session (except in emergencies) or no-shows will be billed for the first hour. Frequent cancellations may result in limited future bookings.
Can I reach out to you outside of session time?
You are welcome to email or text me between sessions. While I aim to respond promptly, I cannot guarantee immediate replies. If you anticipate needing extra support outside of sessions, please let me know in advance. Regular rates apply for tutoring, homework help, or editing provided electronically, including email responses requiring more than 10 minutes.
Do you do group sessions?
I can work with groups of up to four students, with rates negotiable depending on the size and needs of the group.
Do you offer free trial sessions?
I do not offer free or trial sessions, as they are often not representative of a student’s true engagement or potential. However, I am happy to speak on the phone to help determine whether we may be a good fit.
Do you have a refund policy?
If you feel a session was not beneficial and you came prepared with questions and content to review, I will not charge for the session. In that case, I will discontinue tutoring.
